I also worked on the adjust the importgradenewstudent logic so that it checks if an applicant already has a record for the current term and semester. If the person does not exist in the person table, it will always return "not found", regardless of how many records exist in admission_applicant. Why this happens: The import logic expects the person to exist in the person table before creating/updating their admission_applicant record. If the person is missing in person, it will not check admission_applicant at all. How to fix: Ensure that the person exists in the person table before importing. If you want to match by other fields (like person_id from admission_applicant), you need to adjust the logic to look up by those fields.
